Hi, Brett

Dear Brett,

First off: Thanks for talking to my dad. I hope you have a good flight to Dublin...don't let my my dad bug you too much; he's a real talker. If you mention bike advocacy, cheese-making, or transportation planning in general you are doomed. However, you both probably share a profound love for Paul Simon's Graceland album, as do I.

I've been a fan for a while - been to 2 concerts of yours at the Crystal Ballroom here in Portland.

I'd love to open for you in Portland or anytime you are playing on the West coast. You'll find 2 of my songs below.

Also - I know you are playing with John Butler Trio for your European shows. I have a very interesting story to tell him regarding the 2012 Super Bowl if he has time.

Anyway, I hope you like the music regardless, and keep being awesome!

PDX gig with Seattle band St. Paul de Vence

Hello Beautiful people,

Hope your 2014 is off to a good start. I'm excited to announce a show in Portland with my full band, opening for a lovely group from big brother Seattle. Its May 24th - please do come by!

St. Paul de Vence plays indie/folk-rock and draws heavily on WWII-era France as the basis for their songwriting. They have a lovely sound, and I have seen them a few times (once in Seattle and once in Portland). Come see them if you like awesome harmonies, and/or autoharp. Yes, they have an autoharp player (he plays other things as well).

My band will include the lovely Peter Rodocker (who produced my album) on guitar, Shohei Kobayashi on guitar as well, and Ravi Gadad on horns, piano, accordion, etc.  Anna Jo will be there crooning on vocals as always. And we'll have Arthur Park on bass and Anders Bergstrom on drums.

The Druthers will finish off the night with some awesome rousing folk/rock numbers - they are dear friends of ours, and we were happy to have them on our CD release show at Secret Society as well.

Happy Holidays

Its been a while since I've posted. Mostly wanted to say Happy Holidays!

Annie and I had a wonderful trip out to New York in Oct to open for Lucy Kaplansky. She was awesome, and so was NYC as it was my first time there IN MY LIFE.

I'm still working on getting out the remaining posters and books to Kickstarter backers, as well as other prizes.

We're putting together a band and will be starting off 2014 with a few shows!

Thanks a million!!

We felt so much love last Sunday at the release show. It was a fun night, and 150+ of you braved the rains to come help us celebrate.

I was on KZME in Portland last week talking about how we made the new album. Check out the show here and listen to the whole album along the way!!

Other updates: Currently planning more shows in the Pacific Northwest and beyond!!

If you've heard the new album, please leave a rating and review on iTunes here.

Its time to Release Finding a Way Home!!

The time has come to officially welcome the new album into the world. Join us for a night of awesome music with guests Ruby Pines and The Druthers!

My parents and sister are coming out from Chicago for the show! We will have 11+ people onstage to play ALL of the album's songs!! Admission is $10 but includes the CD!!!

New Year album out now!

Hey wonderful people! Happy Happy Holidays!  Today I am at my grandma's celebrating Christmas, but Annie and I brought our menorah so we'll be celebrating the 6th night of Chanukah tonight.

We've rushed to put together a little album for you guys, and I'm happy to announce today that we have released it into the world!  Click here to download it and listen to The New Year 2012.

It features 3 originals and 1 cover - a newer song and three songs that I've meant to record for a long time.  I've released it as a pay-what-you-will, but please feel free to enter $0.00 when you download it, its my holiday present to you!

I hope everyone is having a wonderful holiday, and that 2012 will be a wonderful year for us all.
